The labor market will change positively. The Minister of Social Affairs has come up with a package of different measures. These measures should give you as a temporary worker more certainty. We have listed the most important changes for you as a temporary worker.
A higher wage
Almost all wages have risen sharply in the past year. Collectively negotiated wages have risen by 5.0 percent on average. That is almost twice as much as last year and therefore the highest increase in 40 years. Do you work in the industry, food sector, wholesale, chemistry or for the government? Then you are extra lucky. In these sectors wages have risen the most.
More certainty
As a temporary worker, you will receive a permanent contract more quickly due to the new measures. For example, instead of after 78 weeks, you will get a contract with more certainty after 52 weeks. With this contract when there is for example temporarily no work, you are entitled to continued payment of your wages. After three years you are also entitled to a permanent contract, instead of after 4 years. In this way you know exactly where you stand.
Equal working conditions
The cabinet wants to prevent competition in terms of employment. That is why new rules are being introduced to ensure that you as a temporary worker receive the same employment conditions as other employees. This means that you should be rewarded in the same way as your colleagues. In addition, as a temporary worker you will soon be able to count on pension accrual more quickly. From 1 July 2023 you will start accruing your pension from your first working day instead of after 8 weeks of work.
