“Hi, my name is Sherrel Martina and I was born on December 5, 1967 on the beautiful island of Curaçao. I am a cleaner and I have been working for several companies for years. At the moment I am cleaning in the Ridderhof shopping center in Ridderkerk.
My work makes me very happy. I clean the toilets, wipe the floors and keep the elevators shiny. I make sure that the entire mall is clean. In this way, I make the visitors and store owners super happy.
Before I worked as a cleaner, I started looking for a job together with my wife. I wanted a job that really suits me. A job with a lot of responsibility, challenge and something that would really make me happy. I like to make others happy and take care of a clean environment. My wife Moraima pointed me to this job. She said, “Look Sherrel, this job is for you, you are this job! If you apply for it, we will pray for it in church this week.”
The best thing about my job is that everyone can see me working. I also often receive compliments from visitors and store owners. Sometimes I even get a present because they are thankful that the mall is always clean and tidy.
