Do you have a lot of technical knowledge and insight? Are you capable of finding a solution for every challenge? And do you enjoy seeing immediate results?  Then a job as a mechanic is made for you! In this blog, we will tell you exactly what you need for a job as a mechanic and what this job looks like.

What does a mechanic do?

The mechanic’s profession is incredibly varied and broad. You can specialize in a specific technical branch such as hydraulics, service or electrical. In general, you are responsible for maintaining, repairing or renewing various technical installations and devices. The most important aspect is that you have technical knowledge and insight. You have a solution for every challenge, which makes your work challenging and meaningful. In addition, you will not only have to show that you are a pro in your field. You must also be able to communicate this with your clients, team and suppliers. If you work for a company, you are the business card of the company. You work independently and you will have to make decisions yourself. And be honest; what could be more fun than people asking for you and only you next time?

Where does a mechanic work?

As a mechanic, you can work in many different sectors. Every company is different and that is why every company needs a different type of technician. In principle, mechanics can be found wherever there are machines. Consider, for example, an electrician who has to go up on the roof for solar panels. Or a job as a refrigeration engineer who ensures that refrigerators in supermarkets, wholesalers or stadiums continue to work properly. You decide where your passion lies! Because mechanics are needed in many places, we at Concreeto will always find a suitable job in your area.

How can I get started as a mechanic?

Most mechanics follow a technical MBO education. For different functions, you have different courses. Within a course, you often have the opportunity to specialize even further. Some popular MBO courses are mechanical engineering, engineering or mechatronics.

No technical background, education or work experience? You can still get to work as a mechanic! At Concreeto we have the Junior Mechanic vacancy permanently open for go-getters with a passion for technology. Experience is not required for this. Motivation and technical insight are! Many of our clients offer good internal training for people with technical talent. Read here what you can expect as a junior mechanic.
